It retains the classic Blackberry Bold styling with a QWERTY keyboard on the front on the handset, but has the added bonus of a touchscreen and several welcome improvements to its performance.
The front of the handset has a TFT capacitive touchscreen and a physical QWERTY keyboard. This combination offers the best of both worlds; easy navigation of the all new Blackberry 7.0 OS, with the simplicity and efficiency of a QWERTY keyboard. This makes it the perfect phone for those who send a lot of text messages or emails.
The Blackberry Bold Touch also offers a number of improved specifications which will no doubt impressive existing Blackberry users who have desired these features for a while. For starters, a 1.2 GHz processor is on hand to run demanding applications with ease, and provide the computing power to run the impressive new version of the Blackberry operating system.
Additionally, there is more storage in this handset than there is on others in the Blackberry Bold range. 8 GB is available at the users' disposal, meaning that many different files can be stored in the phone. Music and video files, downloaded applications, or even Microsoft office documents are all able to be stored, and accessed instantly. Should users require more storage, they can even utilise the microSD slot by installing a card of up to 32GB. The last Blackberry Bold, the 9780 only has 256 MB of storage, so would require the use of the microSD slot just to attain the standard storage of the Bold Touch.
The camera is another are which sees some improvements over the previous Bold handsets. The camera on the Blackberry Bold has the same 5 megapixels (2592x 1944 resolution), autofocus and LED flash, but also includes image stabilisation, face detection and geo-tagging along with the ability to shoot video footage in HD (720p).
As you would expect from any Blackberry phone, the Blackberry Bold Touch has impressive internet browsing capabilities and supports a number of communication methods; phone call function, SMS, MMS, email, push email and IM.
The Blackberry Bold Touch is the handset which many fans of the brand have been waiting for. It offers the classic Blackberry styling and functionality, but brings the range up to date. Additions such as the powerful processor and touchscreen are sure to be welcomed with open arms.
